Pranayama & Yin Yoga Feb 11

Chloe Karoub will be teaching a yoga workshop on the ancient yogic techniques of pranayama followed by a yin yoga class. Both of these practices have absolutely transformed her life. Over the past two years, Chloe has extensively studied yoga in Hawaii, India and Bali. In Rishikesh, India, she received her 500-hour teacher training certificate and she is a registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance. Chloe now does workshops to teach others some of the best techniques she has learned and practiced. Pranayama is the control of prana through the breath and consists of yogic breathing exercises that have the ability to quickly increase energy, relieve stress, improve mental clarity, improve physical health and expand consciousness. “As a result of pranayama, the veil over the inner light is destroyed and the mind becomes fit for concentration.” (Chapter 2, verses 52 & 53 The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali) Yin yoga is a slower paced form of yoga, in which moderate stress is placed on the connective tissues of the body; the tendons, fascia and ligaments, with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. “By letting go, it all gets done.” – Lao Tzu Benefits: Cultivate mindfulness Improve digestion Increase lung capacity Improve flexibility Improve complexion of skin Emotional stability and mental calmness Heightened energy and feeling of lightness Stress and anxiety reduction Helps with injury recovery Helps with insomnia Cultivate a greater self-practice Connect with Chloe: Website: Facebook: Email:
